About IKCOC

Indo Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (IKCOC) is a non-profit organisation registered in Republic of Kosovo. The main objective is to promote and enhance trade and economic relations between India and Kosovo.

MISSION & VISION

To bring people of both the countries closer and exchange diplomatic, economic, cultural, sports, trade tie ups between them. IKCOC aims to participate in all the activities which brings development of Kosovo.

IKCOC will support and intermediate for the cooperation between the business and other organizations of Kosovo and India with the aim of growth and further development of the economies of both the countries. i.e Kosovo and India.

About Kosovo

Kosovo is a region in southeastern Europe. In antiquity, the Dardanian kingdom, and later Roman province of Dardania was located in the region.

Government

Republic. OF Kosovo, a former territory of Serbia, declared independence in February 2008. The former Serbian province of Kosovo unilaterally declared independence on Sunday (February 17) and became recognized as the world’s 195th country on Monday. The United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and other countries have officially recognized Kosovo as an independent country. With international recognition, Kosovo meets the criteria for independent country status and became one of the world’s newest countries.

About India

India officially the Republic of India is a country in South Asia. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country with over 1.2 billion people, and the most populous democracy in the world. Bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the south-west, and the Bay of Bengal on the south-east, it shares land borders with Pakistan to the west China, Nepal, and Bhutan to the north-east, and Burma (Myanmar) and Bangladesh to the east. In the Indian Ocean, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; in addition, India’s Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.

Government

India is a federation with a parliamentary system governed under the Constitution of India, which serves as the country’s supreme legal document. It is a constitutional republic and representative democracy, in which “majority rule is tempered by minority rights protected by law”. Federalism in India defines the power distribution between the federal government and the states. The government abides by constitutional checks and balances. The Constitution of India, which came into effect on 26 January 1950,] states in its preamble that India is a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic. India’s form of government, traditionally described as “quasi-federal” with a strong center and weak states has grown increasingly federal since the late 1990s as a result of political, economic, and social changes.
